Holloway Hall Community Garden
Every Monday
The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.
West Heath Community Centre Garden
Every Tuesday
Get ready to enjoy a day filled with fun activities, beautiful greenery, and a sense of community. Take a stroll through their lovely garden, participate in gardening workshops, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. Milebrook Hall Community Garden
Every Thursday
Pop along to Milebrrok Hall and spend a couple of hours chatting and growing fresh vegetables and fruit. Listen to the birdsong as you tend to the raised beds and brush up on our horticultual skills. Each month, you will use the seasonal vegetables to make budget friendly soups in the hall.
Highbury Orchard Wellbeing Session
Every Thursday
Highbury Orchard Community are supporting people on Resettlement Programmes from Syria and Afghanistan and we people making Birmingham their home. They are offering fun activities like planting trees, growing fruit, foraging, and looking after the orchard & learning English through doing.
Kitwell Wildlife Conservation Project

Join a different expert every month for tea, coffee, cake, and the opportunity to hear what they have to say for 30 minutes, followed by a chance to stay to chat and share ideas if you would like. This month will be: a ‘Climate Fresk Workshop’
Festive Gin Experience
Sunday 14th December
You’ll begin with a guided winter walk through Stirchley, foraging for seasonal botanicals— berries, seeds, and fragrant herbs that thrive at this time of year. These wild finds will become the inspiration for your very own gin creation. Back at our welcoming base, you’ll warm up with a tasting session of infused gins—some crisp and fresh, others spiced and cosy—each paired with tonics and garnishes to highlight their character. The highlight of the course is creating your very own compounded gin. With a choice of wild foraged ingredients and festive botanicals (including warming spices perfect for the season), you’ll craft a bespoke 500ml bottle of gin to take home.

A relaxed nature inspired arts and crafts session, in beautiful woodland surroundings (Parkridge Nature Reserve in Solihull), with bottomless tea and coffee! No experience needed as all crafts are aimed at beginners, and all resources supplied.

Join Sustainable Life Birmingham for a 1-2 hour foraging walk looking at common wild plants with edible or medicinal uses, historical uses and poisonous lookalikes aimed at beginners and helping you to get started in the world of foraging.

Nature Tots at EcoPark
Friday 5th December
From environmental arts and crafts to story time, mini-beast hunts, pond-dipping and woodland games, Nature Tots has plenty to entertain every young family! Based at our EcoPark education centre, you’ll soon forget its urban surroundings as you discover woodlands, ponds and meadows – there is even an orchard with apples ripe for picking in autumn! Nature Tots takes place every Friday morning during term time, whatever the weather, and is open to all preschool children and accompanying adults.

Nature Club @ Parkridge

Nature Club is a great way to engage your child with the outdoors, build their confidence, learn new skills and encourage socialisation through exploring nature and taking part in wildlife-themed games, activities and fun crafts to take home. This group accommodates for primary aged children of all needs and abilities, and is suitable for both home-schooled children and those in in-school learning.
