Holloway Hall Community Garden
Every Monday
The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.
West Heath Community Centre Garden
Every Tuesday
Get ready to enjoy a day filled with fun activities, beautiful greenery, and a sense of community. Take a stroll through their lovely garden, participate in gardening workshops, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. Milebrook Hall Community Garden
Every Thursday
Pop along to Milebrrok Hall and spend a couple of hours chatting and growing fresh vegetables and fruit. Listen to the birdsong as you tend to the raised beds and brush up on our horticultual skills. Each month, you will use the seasonal vegetables to make budget friendly soups in the hall.
Highbury Orchard Wellbeing Session

Highbury Orchard Community are supporting people on Resettlement Programmes from Syria and Afghanistan and we people making Birmingham their home. They are offering fun activities like planting trees, growing fruit, foraging, and looking after the orchard & learning English through doing.
Kitwell Wildlife Conservation Project

An afternoon filled with outdoor fun and conservation efforts. Help TCV Birmingham protect and preserve the local wildlife and meadows in the area.

A relaxed nature inspired arts and crafts session, in beautiful woodland surroundings (Parkridge Nature Reserve in Solihull), with bottomless tea and coffee! No experience needed as all crafts are aimed at beginners, and all resources supplied.

Tuesday 13th January
This is a creative, welcoming upcycling session that shows just how easy it can be to turn something old into something wearable. Working with pre-loved shawl fabrics, you’ll learn how to hand-make a simple, throw-on Desi jacket that fits most sizes — all in just a few hours using basic hand-sewing techniques. No previous sewing experience is needed. This workshop is about slowing down, valuing what we already have, and enjoying the process of making — with good conversation, tea, and creativity.

Lickey Hills Circular Walk
Saturday 17th January
Starting from Barnt Green station this walk climbs gently to the visitor centre. From there, keeping our height, it crosses to Beacon Hill with views of Birmingham and a short break weather permitting. After that the route descends to the golf tea rooms before climbing up gradually via orchards to the visitor centre again. And then it is all downhill to Barnt Green Station!
Climate Café
Sunday 18th January
Extinction Rebellion and Friends of the Earth jointly present Climate Café, a space to learn about environmental issues and solutions to them. Join a different expert every month for tea, coffee, cake, and the opportunity to hear what they have to say for 30 minutes, followed by a chance to stay to chat and share ideas if you would like. This month will be: ”Sustainability and the future of AI in Communications’
Small99’s People, Planet, Pint™: Sustainability Meetup

A monthly (during the school year) Wildlife Watch After School Club at The Parkridge Centre – spend an hour heading outdoors into the natural world of our Parkridge reserve to explore, learn new skills, play games and maybe even make some new friends! This session is aimed at ages 4 to 11 years.

Join Wild Earth Movement for this event at the Think Tank – they’ll be running an upcycling workshop & you’ll get the chance to make your own moon rocks & an outer space galaxy picture to take home!

Nature Club is a great way to engage your child with the outdoors, build their confidence, learn new skills and encourage socialisation through exploring nature and taking part in wildlife-themed games, activities and fun crafts to take home. This group accommodates for primary aged children of all needs and abilities, and is suitable for both home-schooled children and those in in-school learning.
