Wildlife Walks
Every Wednesday
Join the The Conservation Volunteers every Wednesday morning at their Queen Elizabeth Hospital community grow space for a weekly nature walk around the site! Discover the large diversity of wildlife, including a variety of different birds, butterflies, moths and other insects. Then spend a couple of hours gardening, growing and tending to fruits and vegetables in the community grow space!
Bird ID Walk & Food Growing
Every Friday
Join the The Conservation Volunteers every Friday at Rowheath Pavilion for a Bird ID walk, and to sow, grow, and harvest your own food at their growing space. Not only will you learn about the joys of growing your own food but you will also make new friends and improve your health and wellbeing.
Yoga in the Park

Yoga Borne’s Yoga in the Park, in collaboration with Cotteridge Park, is continuing into September on a donation basis, with a % of donations going back into the community. Join Yoga Borne for accessible and inclusive outdoor Yoga in nature! No booking required.
Short Foraging Walk for Beginners
Sunday 1st September
A 1-2 hour foraging walk in Stirchley, Birmingham. The walk will look at common wild plants with edible or medicinal uses, historical uses and poisonous lookalikes aimed at beginners and helping you to get started in the world of foraging.
Bird Walk and Talk
Sunday 1st September
A free Bird Walk and Talk led by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust at Walsall Arboretum. You will be exploring the park to learn more about the brilliant birds that live there.
Voluntary Litter Pick of the JQ Cemeteries

Birmingham Honey show

Birmingham Honey Show, run by the Birmingham & District Beekeepers, is all things bees and honey with live hive demonstrations and stalls selling a range of ‘Bee’ themed products and produce. Entry is free for everyone and includes access to the whole Winterbourne site. A great day out for the whole family! No pre-booking is required.
Half Day Foraging & Tasting Experience
Sunday 8th September
A half day foraging experience looking not only at what plants you can forage, but how you can put some of them to use right away. The walk will look at common wild plants with edible or medicinal uses, historical uses and poisonous lookalikes, aimed at beginners and helping you to get started in the world of foraging. You will also be collecting material for fire, and on returning to basecamp you will build a fire with the collected tinder and use the fire to make something useful from what you have gathered.

Wildlife Watch After School Club

Spend an hour heading outdoors into the natural world of the Parkridge reserve to explore, learn new skills, play games and maybe even make some new friends! This session is aimed at ages 4 to 11 years.
Climate Café
Sunday 15th September
Extinction Rebellion and Friends of the Earth jointly present Climate Café, a space to learn about environmental issues and solutions to them. Join a different expert every month for tea, coffee, cake, and the opportunity to hear what they have to say for 30 minutes, followed by a chance to stay to chat and share ideas if you would like. This month will be ‘Individuals Can Only Do So Much: Why We Need The Climate & Nature Bill’ with with Jamie Russel from Zero Hour.
