Holloway Hall Community Garden
Every Monday
The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.
West Heath Community Centre Garden
Every Tuesday
Get ready to enjoy a day filled with fun activities, beautiful greenery, and a sense of community. Take a stroll through their lovely garden, participate in gardening workshops, and connect with fellow nature enthusiasts. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to relax and unwind in the heart of our community.
Milebrook Hall Community Garden
Every Thursday
Pop along to Milebrrok Hall and spend a couple of hours chatting and growing fresh vegetables and fruit. Listen to the birdsong as you tend to the raised beds and brush up on our horticultual skills. Each month, you will use the seasonal vegetables to make budget friendly soups in the hall.
Kitwell Wildlife Conservation Project
Every Thursday
An afternoon filled with outdoor fun and conservation efforts. Help TCV Birmingham protect and preserve the local wildlife and meadows in the area.
Neurodivergent Nature Group Parkridge
Monday 2nd February
Join the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust at Parkridge Centre Solihull to explore and enjoy nature and spend time with other Neurodivergent adults.
Bird Watching for Beginners @RSPB Sandwell Valley
Tuesday 3rd & Saturday 7th February
Join RSPB volunteers on an easy monthly walk around the reserve, whether you are new to birdwatching or just want to discover more about wildlife at the reserve, the team will give you tips on getting started, point out the different birds, how to identify them and how the seasons bring different changes to the valley.

Monday 9th February
A relaxed nature inspired arts and crafts session, in beautiful woodland surroundings (Parkridge Nature Reserve in Solihull), with bottomless tea and coffee! No experience needed as all crafts are aimed at beginners, and all resources supplied.

Wednesday 11th February
Sophie, trained in nature mindfulness will guide you on a slow, gentle walk in Kings Heath Park helping you connect more deeply with nature through the senses and playfulness. There you will be able to create a nature inspired picture, card or clay pendant, all materials will be supplied.
Eco Gym
Wednesday 11th & Wednesday 25th February
A free nature based volunteering session. Get moving with a variety of tasks that will give your local green space a helping hand. Meet new people who share a passion for being outdoors and staying active. Soak up the benefits that fresh air and green space have on our mental health.

Tuesday 17th February
Make It Mend It is a monthly drop-in craft and mending café for anyone wanting to learn how to fix, mend, upcycle or repair items and objects. Free materials. Free refreshments. Drop in between 6 pm and 8 pm.

4-Week Foraging Club
Starts Sunday 15th February
This spring, join Sustainable Life Birmingham for a unique opportunity to deepen your plant knowledge and grow your confidence in foraging. Over the course of four weekly lessons, you’ll develop essential identification skills, explore the edible and medicinal potential of local plants, and learn how to safely distinguish them from poisonous lookalikes.
Climate Café
Sunday 18th January
Extinction Rebellion and Friends of the Earth jointly present Climate Café, a space to learn about environmental issues and solutions to them. Join a different expert every month for tea, coffee, cake, and the opportunity to hear what they have to say for 30 minutes, followed by a chance to stay to chat and share ideas if you would like. Join Issy from The Sewcial Edit at Stir for a relaxed, hands-on craft session turning scrap fabric into one-of-a-kind keyrings. Explore the magic of the outdoors on a gentle, family‑friendly walk filled with creativity, curiosity, and discovery. Feel, observe, and photograph the unique textures of leaves, tree bark, and other natural wonders. Take a closer look at moss and lichen growing on trees. They’ll bring mini‑scopes so you can see these tiny ecosystems up close—just like a nature detective!
