Ballyhoo-Clean up your website

Ballyhoo are a digital agency based in Longbridge, specialising in website design and development to help their clients succeed and prosper online. Their team has collectively over 50 years’ experience in all things digital, and they offer a multitude of services including paid advertising, content creation, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and more. They work with sustainability at the forefront of their minds to offer a service that is effective yet doesn’t have a negative impact on the planet or people.

What do you need to consider to ensure your business is sustainable? “Digital carbon footprints are just as important as physical carbon footprints, and with a rise in the digital world, it’s more important than ever for us to do this sustainably. To tackle our carbon footprint, we are members of Ecologi (a company that plants trees and funds the world’s best carbon offsetting solutions), and in the last 5 months have planted 635 trees and reduced our carbon by 37.5 tonnes (equivalent to two carbon footprints per team member!), whilst also helping to fund projects in Vietnam, South Africa and the Amazon Rainforest! We are also one of just 41 UK companies to be certified by The Green Web Foundation and offer Green Hosting – meaning our website, and our clients’ websites, run on renewable energy. We also put pressure on our suppliers to go Green, and our office building has recently been acquired by Pure Offices who have a Net Zero commitment. We are a family-owned business, and our team is important to us – we are Accredited Living Wage Employers meaning we have chosen to pay our employees a wage that they and their families can live on – giving them a fair and decent pay. We also take every opportunity to contribute to the local community, through donations to local causes or volunteering our time and expertise. Finally, we are in the process of becoming a B Corporation – a certification that is given to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency!”

What do you love about running your business?

“Our favourite thing about running Ballyhoo is working with smaller businesses and being a part of their growth. Having a part to play in them succeeding and evolving feels great as we know we are working with people that truly value this and the hard work that goes behind it.”

And finally, what do you love about Birmingham?

“We love that Birmingham is hugely diverse and has a large amount of opportunities for everyone. It’s a creative city and there’s always lots going on – conferences, events and more, which is a great way to meet like-minded people. We feel that Birmingham is vibrant and energetic, which is great for inspiration.”
