Wildlife Walks
Various dates
A weekly nature walk around the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site every Wednesday morning! Discover the large diversity of wildlife, including a variety of different birds, butterflies, moths and other insects. Then spend a couple of hours gardening, growing and tending to fruits and vegetables in the community grow space!
Midlands Energy Pub Quiz

The Birmingham University Energy Systems and Data group is hosting an energy pub quiz for those working on energy or the net-zero transition.
Nature Tots at EcoPark
Friday 12th July
Hands-on outdoor activities for children themed around wildlife, developing a love of nature and play that can last a lifetime. Nature Tots takes place every Friday morning during term time, whatever the weather, and is open to all preschool children and accompanying adults.
Repair Café
Saturday 13th July
The Restart Project are holding a Repair Café as part of the Community Café at St John’s Church, Harborne. The team have skills in repairing household items, appliances and devices of all kinds – including domestic appliances (toasters, vacuum cleaners etc.), but also pretty much anything else you can think of (toys, electronic items, battery-operated clocks, clock radios etc.). Repairs are free of charge, and there will also be tea, cakes and community!
Green Futures: Mini Planter Workshop
Saturday 13th July
Upcycle and decorate a mini planter using reclaimed wood. Led by Forest School leader Katie Andrews, learn to sow your seeds and grow your own veggies, in MAC’s sunny Garden Studio and Pocket Garden. Suitable for ages 5+.
Voluntary Litter Pick of the JQ Cemeteries

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and help clean up our beautiful cemeteries in the Jewellery Quarter. This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the environment. Equipment is provided, please wear suitable clothing & footwear.
Cinema Screening of Wilding

Based on Isabella Tree’s best-selling book by the same title, Wilding tells the incredible story of a young couple that bets on nature for the future of their failing, four-hundred-year-old estate. They set to work with their groundbreaking vision, battling entrenched tradition and major forces along the way, daring to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature.
Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It’s the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe and beyond.
Visible Mending & Clothes Swap
Tuesday 16th July
Learn about taking care of our clothes and how our clothes can take care of us. Practice different ways of visibly mending our clothes to extend their lives and create stories of wear and repair. Bring any clothes or fabrics that need mending or practice on the scrap fabrics that will be provided. There will also be a clothes swap to help find new homes for clothes with lots more life in them, but that no longer work for us. Take along any pre-loved clothes to swap with others. No skills needed, just an interest in sewing and learning!
MAKE IT MEND IT
Tuesday 16th July
Make It Mend It is a monthly drop-in craft and mending café for anyone wanting to learn how to fix, mend, upcycle or repair items and objects. Free materials. Free refreshments. Drop in between 6 pm and 8 pm.
Climate Café – Repair Café
Sunday 21st July
Extinction Rebellion and Friends of the Earth jointly present Climate Café, a space to learn about environmental issues and solutions to them. Join a different expert every month for tea, coffee, cake, and the opportunity to hear what they have to say for 30 minutes, followed by a chance to stay to chat and share ideas if you would like. This month will be a ‘Repair Café’ – bring your broken tech, electronics, clothes, fabrics, and bicycles for repair!
Lichfield Vegan Market

If you fancy travelling a bit further afield, The Lichfield Vegan Market is taking place in Lichfield the Market Square. The event will bring together an incredible selection of vegan street food vendors, artisan bakers, craft brewers, ethical jewellers, local artists, zero-waste champions + loads more.
DIY Upcycling Workshop

This practical workshop will introduce you to the delights of Frenchic paint, which is a high-quality paint that’s perfect for upcycling or updating your existing furniture, or junk shop finds, giving them a new lease on life! Bring along a small piece of furniture to upcycle, and by the end of the workshop, you will have a uniquely upcycled piece of furniture for your home or garden.
