Holloway Hall Community Garden

Every Monday

The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.

Bird Watching for Beginners @RSPB Sandwell Valley

ROAM: Animations Inspired by our Right to Roam

Monday 9th October

Artists Sarah Silverwood, Edd Carr and Grace Lee have each made a short film inspired by the Right to Roam campaign movement, and its vision of “a future countryside in which people not only enjoy the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of nature but serve as its guardians too.” They reflect on themes of belonging, ancestry, enclosure, privatisation, colonial legacy, access islands, mysticism and witchcraft. These rich, mixed media animations have put environmental considerations and sustainability at the forefront of their techniques.
