Every Monday
The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.
West Heath Community Centre Garden

Pop along to Milebrrok Hall and spend a couple of hours chatting and growing fresh vegetables and fruit. Listen to the birdsong as you tend to the raised beds and brush up on our horticultual skills. Each month, you will use the seasonal vegetables to make budget friendly soups in the hall.

Bird Watching for Beginners @RSPB Sandwell Valley

Artists Sarah Silverwood, Edd Carr and Grace Lee have each made a short film inspired by the Right to Roam campaign movement, and its vision of “a future countryside in which people not only enjoy the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of nature but serve as its guardians too.” They reflect on themes of belonging, ancestry, enclosure, privatisation, colonial legacy, access islands, mysticism and witchcraft. These rich, mixed media animations have put environmental considerations and sustainability at the forefront of their techniques.

Conservation Issues of Warley Woods Talk

Wildlife conservation in urban settings has its own set of issues it needs to address. Raising awareness of urban conservation can go a long way in combatting some of the issues we face. Sometimes even well-meaning individuals can inadvertently be harming their local environment. Come to this talk where you will look at some of the environmental issues at Warley Woods. You will learn what Wild Warley is trying to combat them and how you can help achieve the aim to make Warley Woods ‘Better for both people and wildlife’.

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing – an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like extreme weather, food security, health and cost of living.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and a range of voices from across the UK.
