Holloway Hall Community Garden
Every Monday
The Community Gardening group at Ley Hill meet every week to learn how to grow food, techniques for looking after fruit trees & bushes, and other skills such as woodwork. They also grow a mix of flowers and have grand plans to put up lots of bird boxes around the site! All of the food grown can be taken by the group to use at home.
Women Only Cycling Tuition
Every Monday in June
For complete beginners, who want to learn to ride a bike. Taught by qualified female instructors, bike and helmets will be available to borrow, however, these are limited and first come first served.
West Heath Community Centre Garden
Every Tuesday

Milebrook Hall Community Garden
Every Thursday
Pop along to Milebrrok Hall and spend a couple of hours chatting and growing fresh vegetables and fruit. Listen to the birdsong as you tend to the raised beds and brush up on our horticultual skills. Each month, you will use the seasonal vegetables to make budget friendly soups in the hall.
Kitwell Wildlife Conservation Project

An afternoon filled with outdoor fun and conservation efforts. Help TCV Birmingham protect and preserve the local wildlife and meadows in the area.
Shenley Little Kitchen Garden

Help TCV Birmingham maintain the Little Kitchen Garden. Grow your own food and take part in local urban conservation efforts whilst making friends with like minded people.
Highbury Orchard Community CIC Volunteer Sessions

National Emergency Briefing + Q&A

CIVIC SQUARE and MAC are collaborating to host a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, creating space for collective reflection, dialogue and civic imagination in response to the realities of climate and ecological breakdown.
What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK? Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing – an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like extreme weather, food security, health and cost of living.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and a range of voices from across the UK. After the film there will be a short open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

Come and learn all about the wildlife which thrives here, from the plants on the woodland floor to the trees which create a canopy above. You’ll learn about wetlands, meadows and the other habitats which exist here, the folklore which surrounds them, and the fantasy which was born here.

Eco Creations: Nature-Inspired Workshop for Women and Children

Family-friendly workshop celebrating creativity, community, and care for the planet, right by the beautiful Edgbaston Reservoir! This special session welcomes women and children from Ukrainian, Afghan, Syrian, migrant, and local communities to come together for a joyful afternoon of hands-on making and meaningful connection. You’ll create vibrant garden and balcony decorations, playful fridge magnets, and bird feeders with uplifting messages, using eco-friendly and recycled materials.
